Meet Dr. Scott Gersch
Scott D. Gersch, DMD
Dr. Scott Gersch is happy to have the opportunity to make people smile and give them the confidence he believes they deserve. He enjoys working with patients at every step of the process and really getting to know them.
Dr. Scott is known for his enthusiasm and skill in treating children and adults, for which he has received numerous honors and awards. Dr. Scott, and Cranford Orthodontics, have repeatedly been named a Top Orthodontist in New Jersey Monthly Magazine as voted by their peers, and one of the state’s Favorite Kids’ Docs, in NJ Family Magazine, as chosen by parents and patients.
Dr. Scott Gersch is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, making him a Board Certified Orthodontist, an accolade achieved by less than a third of orthodontist in the nation. In addition, Dr. Gersch is one of only a few Invisalign Diamond Plus doctors in the entire state of NJ, proudly making Gersch Orthodontics one of the largest providers in the state and the country.
Dr. Scott Gersch joined his father at Cranford Orthodontics in August, 2005, with whom he continues to practice along with their partner, Dr. Ilona Rossignol.
Education
Dr. Scott is a native of Westfield, NJ and presently resides there with his family. He graduated from Westfield High School in 1995. He then received his bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Michigan in 1999. After college, Dr. Gersch was accepted to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where he earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD), and graduated in 2003. Dr. Gersch was on the Dean’s List, served as class president, and received honors, including the Award for Excellence, from the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He continued his post-graduate studies at New York University College of Dentistry, where he completed his residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in July 2005.
While at NYU, Dr. Gersch was the Chief Resident of his orthodontic program, a clinical instructor of Invisalign, radiology, and general dentistry. This was the foundation of his ongoing research into Patients’ Aesthetic Concerns and Quality of Life.
Continuing Education
Dr. Gersch’s commitment to research on improving orthodontic treatment for both children and adults has led him to publish several articles, win numerous research awards, and present his findings at national and international meetings. He lectures throughout his community, and often speaks at local schools and career day events. In addition, he serves as an orthodontic advisor for a local dental study club, and regularly attends continuing education course worldwide to stay connected with the latest techniques and scientific developments within the field.
He is an Invisalign Elite Diamond Plus Provider, making him in the Top 1% worldwide, and an attending member of the teaching staff at Overlook Medical Center. “Our goal is to treat for the right reasons and at the right time, in a great environment,” Dr. Scott Gersch says. “Straight teeth have the ability to give a person self-confidence, and it makes one look and feel better about themselves.”

Outside the office
Dr. Scott is an avid sports fan. He played lacrosse at Westfield High School, and the University of Michigan, has run the New York City Marathon, and enjoys skiing, playing softball, and golfing.
In his spare time, Dr. Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer, and their family. They enjoy watching Michigan football, as well as cheering on the New York Yankees and New Jersey Devils. Dr. Scott is also actively involved in the local community and many charitable organizations throughout the tri-state area.
